The recommended size for a professional movable hen house or chicken shed depends on the number of animals you plan on having. It is essential to provide enough space for the hens to move around comfortably, perch, lay eggs and feed. You need to comply with the regulations on indoor space and the size of the outdoor run available. The most common movable hen houses are 30 or 60m2 in size, representing a good compromise between the size of the flock and ease of movement.

The advantage of a mobile hen house is that it allows a higher number of hens per m2 (16 for conventional hens, for example).
