This movable storage hopper is designed to offer maximum flexibility and autonomy to livestock farmers thanks to its modular design and innovative equipment. It is dedicated to the storage of grains, cereals, seeds and feed.

The CABI BOX can be easily moved around thanks to its light and robust structure, using a lifting tool with forks or a three-point hitch.

There are 2 exit hatches to make it easier to empty cereals or seed, and the telescopic legs allow you to adjust the height to suit you. Its one-piece construction means it’s ready to use straight away and is extremely sturdy.

Storing grain requires special features, due to the specific characteristics of this product. Here are a few important points to bear in mind when storing grain:

Humidity control: humidity is a crucial factor to control in a storage hopper. Excessive humidity can lead to deterioration of the grains and growth of mold, which can compromise its quality and nutritional value. It can also cause grain to pile up in the storage hopper, preventing it from flowing.

Grain drying: if the grain is harvested with a high moisture content, it needs to be dried before storage to avoid problems of mold and spoilage. The storage hopper can be supplied with a suitable ventilation system.

Airing: adequate aeration is necessary to prevent formation of hot or cold pockets in the cereal storage hopper over a long period. Air circulation reduces the risk of condensation and enhances an even temperature distribution throughout the grain in the storage hopper.

How long does a storage hopper last?

A storage hopper from one manufacturer or another may look the same from the outside, but the following factors make a difference to its lifespan:

Metal-sheet thickness: a storage hopper with a thinner sheet will be less expensive but will have a shorter lifespan due to the regular deformation constraints it will undergo. Thin hoppers tend to blister each time they are filled and emptied. A CABIBOX storage hopper is thick enough to avoid this problem.
Hopper support: some manufacturers do not provide structural support for the hopper and its conical part which greatly reduces its lifespan. The CABIBOX storage hopper is welded to a 40mm tubular frame to avoid any risk of deformation.
