How long does a polyester grain silo or feed silo last?

Polyester silos are designed to withstand the elements, including outdoor weather conditions such as rain, snow, wind, etc. The polyester material used is durable and does not corrode easily, providing a very good protection.

A polyester grain silo from one manufacturer or another may look the same from the outside. However, to keep costs down, some manufacturers reduce the thickness of the resin or the fiberglass filler. Under these conditions, the grain silo or feed silo deteriorates more quickly and there is a risk of gutting shortly after the end of the 10-year guarantee period, particularly at the cone.
